Collette adds 29 new small-group tours to meet ‘overwhelming’ demand

Collette Tours has introduced 29 new small-group tours to its portfolio, offering a total of 44 small-group explorations to meet overwhelming customer demand for what it says is “a more intimate and in-depth style of travel”.

Three of the Explorations tours on the list are brand new additions for 2022 and “are perfectly paced for Australian travellers”, Colette Australia marketing manager James Hewlett said, reflecting the company’s focus on regional tours to see a region in greater depth.

The top six exploration tours for 2022 based on bookings include: Japan yesterday and today (New), Exploring South Africa, Vic Falls and Botswana, Treasures of Italy, Finland Northern Lights, Sicily and islands (New) and Alaska’s Northern Lights (New).

The vast landscape of Lavaux, Switzerland.

On Colette Exploration tours, guests travel in small groups of just 14-24 people, staying in 4-star or better hotels/accommodations that reflect local culture or immersive experiences (think an igloo hotel under the Northern Lights or a Sahara Desert camping experience) and enjoy authentic regional cuisine, such as hands-on cooking classes in countries like Umbria, Italy.

Colette Jaclyn Leibl-Cote, president and chief brand officer, said small group travel was the fastest growing style of travel across the global tour operator’s travel and tour offerings.

“Of the 50 new tours launched by Collette in the past year, 60% are small group exploration tours.”

The launch follows recent two-day events Travel forum held at the Crystalbrook Flynn Resort in Cairns from May 18-20, 2022, with travel industry delegates collectively discussing how to bounce back after an incredibly difficult two and a half years for the industry globally.
