Instagram on Wednesday rolled out a paid subscription feature with a small group of US creators that will allow subscribers to pay for exclusive content on Instagram Live and Stories.

For the launch of the test, creators have a choice of eight different monthly prices, according to an Instagram spokesperson: 99 cents, $1.99, $2.99, $4.99, $9.99, 19 $.99, $49.99 or $99.99. Instagram won’t decrease revenue until at least 2023, when parent company Meta is expected to start collecting creator fees on Facebook and Instagram. Although the company has yet to reveal the revenue share percentage by 2023 at the earliest, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has previously said the cut will be less than 30%.

Mosseri said he hopes to expand Instagram’s following functionality over the next few months and discussed the possibility of allowing creators to export their following lists to platforms outside of Instagram.
