This small town in Georgia is getting a makeover at HGTV. Here’s what you need to know.

Six small towns are getting a makeover on HGTV and one of them is in Peach State.

Thomaston, GA, has been selected along with five other cities for the first season of “Home Town Kickstart”, which will bring together “Home Town” hosts Ben and Erin Napier and PEOPLE Magazine to showcase the city and its people. With Thomaston are: Buffalo, Wyoming; Cornwall, New York; Winslow, Arizona; LaGrange, Kentucky; and Minden, Louisiana.

Here’s what you need to know about the program:

What is HGTV Home Town Kickstart?

The HGTV series will consist of three linear and streaming shows – the original flagship series, “Home Town”, filmed in Laurel, MS; “Home Town Takeover”, which saw the Napiers and his team renovate an entire town in Wetumpka, Alabama, and now the all-new “Home Town Kickstart” series with special episodes, two exclusive digital series, “Erin’spired” and “Talkin ‘Shop” and the original Discovery + series, “Home Town: Ben’s Workshop”.

During “Home Town Kickstart”, HGTV will do three things for each city selected: refresh a local hero’s home, modernize a small business, and reinvigorate a public space that will forever change the lives of everyone in the city. Additionally, PEOPLE Magazine will share the unique stories of each city and its most intriguing inhabitants.

“Erin and I have renovated over 80 homes in Laurel for Home Town and we’ve seen how these upgrades change a community for the better,” said Ben Napier. “Now, with the help of HGTV, we will continue what we started and help more small towns across the country.”

Which HGTV personalities will be on the show?

Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent (“The Nate and Jeremiah Home Project”); Ty Pennington (“Rock the Block”); Jasmine Roth (“Help! I destroyed my house”); and Alison Victoria (“Windy City Rehab”) are among the network’s popular experts who, backed by Home Town stars Ben and Erin Napier, will lead three projects in each city.

HGTV host Jasmine Roth, left, helps ‘Brady Bunch’ stars Eve Plumb and Barry Williams turn shutters into Christmas nutcrackers in ‘A Very Brady Renovation: Holiday Edition’.

Why was Thomaston selected for the HGTV show?

According to HGTV, cities have been identified as cities that could use a push to re-energize their revitalization efforts. HGTV has enlisted some of its biggest stars to help it with this unique initiative.

There are no details yet available on when the show aired.
