A WIFE from Odzi, Marange was jailed three months after attacking and injuring her husband’s girlfriend.
Nomatter Kurehwatira (32) from Mazikana village, Chief Marange pleaded guilty to assault charges when she appeared before Mutare Magistrate Nyasha Kuture.
She denied, however, that she used a brick, but the magistrate said there was enough evidence to prove that she had done so.
The magistrate, however, gave Kurehwatira the option of paying a fine of ZW $ 1,500 by February 26. She was also warned not to commit a similar offense for the next five years.
The court heard last year at around 11 p.m. in the village of Mazikana, Kurehwatira approached Rebecca Nyagura at her property and accused her of having an affair with her husband.
Kurehwatira reportedly became very hostile and started attacking Nyagura with punches all over his body.
During the brawl, Nyagura reportedly lost her balance and fell to the ground and Kurehwatira picked up a brick and hit her in the face.
Nyagura suffered head and back injuries and suffered from chest pain.
She was taken to the Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital where she was treated.
The case was reported to the police who attended the scene and arrested Kurehwatira.
